Joseph Zott Sr.
Stories written by Joe Zott Sr. at the Dominican Oaks writing group
When my father moved to Dominican Oaks in Santa Cruz, California he joined a writing group. These are some of his stories. I have tried to share them basically unedited. Some seem to wander a bit, but given that he was approaching 90 I guess that is to be expected. Since I never thought of him as a writer (excepts lists of gas mileage, books and movies he had watched) I was just surprised that he did as well as he did. Hopefully you can enjoy them. (He had multiple copies of some stories so I am still updating things.)
Joe Jr.
Dear person I am sending letter to,
I am trying to send a message, a message like a letter, to you. I don’t know the results of my effort, but I hope you will see the results of something I did and can read what I wrote. Nothing but something you can read, see I am trying to communicate, and to comment on this effort.
This a talent I seemed to have lost and I wish to write more letters and restore the talent of writing. Could please the Writers group. They are frequently reminding me to WRITE. I wanted to send this by phone etc. When you hear the phone ring, there could be a family writer wanting to communicate. No, trying to make a difference in writing, not misspelled. Say the a a while reading. Typed words are there and are trying to tell you about the phrase.
When we have time to discuss this I would be happy.
Love, DAD
